Wines of Chile Bicentennial Event

September 2010 marked the 200^th anniversary of Chilean independence, and to celebrate, the Wines of Chile Experience, supported by Chile Brands, Enotour and Puro Chile hosted a Bicentennial Birthday Bash at Puro Chile in New York City on September 22^nd.

Highlighting the diverse wine tourism that Chile has to offer, the evening showcased a tasting of 200 wines from various regions within Chile, authentic Chilean food, a toast to Chilean independence and a live Twitter feed to engage attendees.

The event also marked the launch of Tweet, Tweet Chile, a contest where one lucky wine enthusiast and a friend had the chance to win a dream trip to Chile to Tweet their experiences to the world. Guests were asked to visit the tweet.winesofchile.org website, where they could plan their ideal seven-day itinerary if given the chance to explore Chile, and if their itinerary was voted as the favorite, would work with the Wines of Chile Experience to turn their dream vacation into a reality.

The evening culminated with an exclusive drawing for a Discover Chile! kit filled with Chilean wine and tools to help entertain at home, Chilean style.
